About Me
Singing has always been a huge passion of mine. I’ve been singing since a very young age and have been actively studying voice and performing for over fifteen years. I graduated with a Performance degree in 2013 from Southampton Solent University, where I studied Voice (specialising in Musical Theatre) and Acting.
I’ve been fortunate to have some amazing performing opportunities over the years, such as singing live on national TV as part of the Channel 5 show “Don’t Stop Believing”. I was also selected as a member of a national ensemble to sing at the celebrations marking the 2012 Olympic Games in London. I had the great fortune to sing at some amazing venues like the Royal Opera House, the Olympic Velodrome, and the Houses of Parliament. I was also able to learn from some amazing professionals like the BBC Singers and a number of internationally renowned coaches, composers, and teachers.
Alongside these incredible performing opportunities, my interest in technique and how the voice works developed as well. I found it fascinating how the use of vowel shaping, scale patterns, and combinations of certain sounds could strengthen and develop a voice in a relatively short space of time, or solve common problems like how to hit a high note or how to smooth the transition between registers.
In 2017, I completed my training with BAST (Be A Singing Teacher) and have gone on to combine my interest in technique and vocal development with my passion for Musical Theatre, as well as other contemporary styles. I am currently undertaking an extended diploma in teaching voice with the fantastic people at BAST, to further develop my skills both as a singer and a vocal coach. There is so much yet to be discovered or fully understood in the study of voice, and I truly believe that no matter where someone is on their vocal journey, they should never stop learning and seeking to better their skills.
As a singing teacher and vocal coach, my aim is to create a fun, safe environment where students can explore the full capabilities of their voice and achieve whatever singing goals they might have. Whether they’re an experienced singer looking to deepen their understanding of vocal technique, or a hobbyist looking to impress their friends on a karaoke night, it is my belief that there is something in singing for everyone. Regardless of experience or aspirations, I am deeply passionate about helping people find joy and accomplishment through their voice.
